Local theatre is the most convenient venue for plays.
Antioch ( 8 miles away ) boasts the P M & L Theatre. P M & L stage offerings continue throughout much of the year. The Lake County College players are but twelve miles from the Leisure Village entrance. Their offerings are often far more professionally delivered than one would expect from a local college.
Of course, Lincolnshire's Marriott Theatre-in-the-Round is a 45 minute drive and downtown Milwaukee and Chicago art locales are near enough to make an evening or day-out fun. Optionally, the use of the Fox Lake METRA Commuter train opens the entire city of Chicago for access to its cultural offerings.
The museums and planetariums of both Chicago and Milwaukee hold world-renowned exhibits.
Many local towns have music nights during the summer months. The old band-stand at Mc Henry (twelve miles away) is a favorite destination.
